About this web site

The object of this web site is to provide things of interest, to the HGV Driver, and which may not be available on the more commercial LGV web sites.

It is also a platform for HGV Drivers to advertise their availability, express their views or tell their stories.

The viewpoints expressed on the Trucking page may be deliberately contentious.
(Well, being ‘normal’, so to speak, is pretty boring).
Opposing viewpoints, comments, whatever, from HGV Drivers, may be found in the Driver ’s Letters page.

Standards
We all may appreciate that it is often very difficult to avoid swearing at some of the things we encounter in our working life. We do not use swear words in these web pages.
Girls
The automotive scene, these days, seems to include attractive and/or scantily clad girls.
We do provide this, but it is only on the Trucks page.
Trying to remove it, from one web site, brought threats of violence, homicide, etc.

The Driver’s Page.
We do not monitor this section, but do we do know that some Drivers have been contacted.
Users can now:
      1. Use a paged display, which displays 10 Drivers at a time.
or, 2. Search by area or several areas.
(Listing all Drivers, on one page, became too long to use).

A facility that allows Drivers to advertise their services online, and for free, is a new idea, and this section may be subject to ongoing refinement.
Ideas, or polite suggestions, welcome.
Work Done
Added: Driver’s own country, and any languages they may speak.
Both these items only become visible when the user clicks on ‘Driver's Page’.
A spell checker has being added to the Driver's section.
(Although it doesn't recognise some trucking terms).

A working HGV Driver runs this web site: There is little time for testing, etc.
If you encounter any errors, please let me know.
Thank You

For non-UK Truckers
HGV = Heavy Goods Vehicle, (the old, UK term).
LGV = Large Goods Vehicle, (the later, EU term, that we are supposed to use).
Whilst not politically correct, HGV is far more appropriate than LGV as trucks are regulated by weight, not size.
And HGV is the most popular and widely used truck term in the UK
.
Found at Leigh Delamare services
Even the Highways Agency use it ! >
